Masterful Addition

With the addition of a new master suite, a Bedford couple turned their modest ranch house – with its cramped master bedroom and exceedingly small “master bath” – into a delightful, joyful and colorful home. The spa-like master bath features a soaking tub that steps down into a partially enclosed shower space with rain heads and pebble tile flooring. The master bedroom boasts a large walk-in closet and a generously-sized bay window that opens onto views of back yard garden and the woodlands beyond.

Feinmann turned the original master bedroom into a gracious family bath and enabled the laundry to move up from the basement. With the new 375 square foot master suite addition, the home has gained improved function and flow, providing the ultimate privacy and luxury for our clients.

The master bathroom cabinetry is Jamestown from Greenfield. Leathered Absolute Black granite is used for both the master bath vanity countertop and the soaking tub deck. A Hansgrohe Raindance showerhead, as well as a handheld element, provide the ideal shower experience the clients were seeking. The shower tile is Porcelanosa Oxford Blanco with Town Niquel Native tile in the background of the niche, and the shower floor tile is Porcelanosa Baia Stone Negro.

The family bath features a floating vanity in Cherry from Greenfield with a Honed Jet Mist Granite countertop and backsplash from Porcelanosa in Nepal Golden Glass. The shower tile is Glacier from Quarziti. The laundry/storage area features maple cabinetry with a natural finish also from Greenfield. The family bath vanity countertop is honed Jet Mist granite.

Additional improvements throughout the house included new radiant heated, hardwood flooring (except in the kitchen), freshly painted living room, dining room, hallways and guest bedrooms. Jewel tones are used throughout the house from the deep blue in the master bedroom to the orchid in the bathroom to the golden hue of the family bath.

Overall this masterful addition provides the right balance of luxury and functionality for a happy home makeover.
