Feinmann, Inc. brought life to this thirteen-year-old, unfinished suburban basement and transformed it into a true entertainment go-ers dream. The new media room addresses a few different remodeling objectives; it allows the homeowners to watch loud movies without disrupting anyone in the rest of the house; it has a kitchenette, so they don’t have to hike upstairs every time they want snacks or drinks; the space can be easily transformed to accommodate guests or in-laws. Added functionality of the space includes an exercise area, a bathroom, and quick access to and from the pool.

Used daily, the media room boasts a built-in gas fireplace, precise placement of a state of the art sound system with meticulously placed programmed speakers, and a 3D projector. In addition, they added two layers of soundproofing.

The design, inspired by bringing the outside in, was achieved by blending both contemporary with natural elements. This included incorporating light color wood throughout and expanding the natural light by adding a full-length wall of windows and double glass doors that lead to the pool area. Azure stone counters in the bathroom and kitchenette area pull in the color of the pool, the bathroom features cracked glass light fixtures making it feel like water, and stone frames the shower and vanity to create a natural appeal.

The homeowners love using this space and look forward to years of family enjoyment!

This was the first time I have been able to actually enjoy the process of undertaking a project of this magnitude. Our basement renovation came out beautifully. We wouldn’t consider working with anyone else on another major project.
