Story
Feinmann transformed this once outdated 4-story townhome in Chelsea into a contemporary showpiece by remodeling the kitchen, dining room, living room, master bathroom, powder room, and basement. The homeowners, a teacher and an attorney, were looking to create a space for entertaining with ample room to cook while incorporating their love for art, texture, and furniture.
The small galley kitchen was combined with the dining room to create a beautiful sleek and contemporary space that now seats 6 people with an almost 10-foot long waterfall island finished in Pental Quartz in Thassos white. The Italian Composit cabinets finished in blue and white bring a sense of reflectivity to the kitchen, while the matte backsplash by Porcelanosa offsets the cabinets with a fun, artistic texture.
The living room’s main feature includes both a gas fireplace wall surround in Nordic Black Granite and a cove lighting system that changes color providing a unique ambiance that can be controlled remotely by phone. In fact, the homeowners can turn almost everything on and off remotely.
Elegance comes to light in the modern master bathroom that delivers the ultimate in luxury and private retreat while blending natural and sleek elements to create this dream bathroom. The showpiece in this bathroom is the ultra-deep 75” x 41” Kohler Sok Infinity soaking tub with a continuous flow of water cascading over the sides of the basin offering a whole-body immersion experience as chromatherapy surrounds you with calming colored lights while thousands of champagne-like bubbles are released.
The bathroom also features hand casted sinks from Italy by renowned designer Antonia Lupi, and a medicine cabinet providing a contemporary and minimalist effect with doors that lift straight up and interior lighting that offers extra visibility, as well as outlets and cable management options for convenience. Finishing off this bathroom is a combination of stone mosaic floors, sleek Tomei glass wall tiles, and the tub wall is finished in a Princess Gray Leathered Granite creating a dramatic modern backdrop.
The basement, once dark and uninviting, was transformed into a beautiful modern family room perfect for watching movies while also providing storage for the homeowner’s expansive library.

Overall we’re very happy with the home. Feinmann helped us include lots of storage and almost all details were well thought out. The master bedroom and bathroom are both truly impressive and Feinmann really did a great job of incorporating our ideas into an effective, beautiful design.
