Sunlit Order

This Winchester whole-house remodel reimagines the home of a busy family of five. Both parents are physicians with demanding, irregular schedules. Their three children are deeply involved in hockey and other sports. The existing home felt dark, closed off, and underscaled.

Feinmann added a three-story rear addition to expand the basement, brighten the first floor, and add a new upstairs bedroom. The new living room features a 9.5-foot coffered ceiling in rich green and expansive windows. The former dining room became a hardworking mudroom with custom Greenfield cabinetry. A new office with sliding pocket doors doubles as a private guest room.

Exterior updates include a raised mahogany-capped deck and a reworked front porch line. The result is a cohesive, light-filled home suited to the pace of family life.
