Warm Arrival

Feinmann reimagined this Newton, Massachusetts home to create a more welcoming and functional arrival. The dated granite stoop and narrow front door offered little protection and felt restrictive. A new timber and stone porch now provides warmth, durability, and architectural presence. The custom wood door, detailed with stained glass, adds artistry, while expanded sidelights invite natural light inside. Together, these changes establish a gracious entry that sets the tone for the entire home.

Inside, the foyer transformed from closed and unremarkable to bright and contemporary. A glass and steel stair rail, paired with a bold chandelier, opened the space with light and movement. The stained glass door enhances this effect, creating a vibrant welcome. Central to the redesign, a sleek glass PVE elevator connects the first floor with ease.

On the second floor, the elevator opens to a bright landing. This integration enhances circulation, blends style with practicality, and ensures accessibility across every level.
