Casa Del Sol “House of Sun” (Newton, MA)

Recently downsizing to a home in Newton, MA, our client was looking to add a sunroom and bring in more natural light and warmth to the first floor of her charming 1934 property. In addition, she came from a home with a gorgeous sunroom and knew it is where she would spend most of her time.

Feinmann, Inc. came up with a creative solution for renovating an existing breezeway and transforming it into a sunroom. Not only does the beautiful 12×12 ft sunroom exude light and warmth, but we also added additional windows to the living room and dining room to uplift the space even further. Most importantly, we took the time to extensively reframe all the doors and windows to keep with the integrity of the house.

The sunroom boasts an entire wall of Marvin Integrity Doors that open to a new patio, as well as three windows that were purposefully placed on the top half of the back wall to create privacy and to allow for use of the entire wall for thoughtfully placing furniture.

It is also important to share that the new space is the perfect backdrop to showcase the colorful artwork her mother painted.
