Verdant Vintage

Built in 1867, this historic Belmont home’s original kitchen no longer met the needs of modern living or entertaining. By reclaiming space from an existing addition and deck, we significantly expanded the footprint, opening up wider circulation and generous workspace around a substantial island and a high-performance cooking zone. Custom Greenfield full-access cabinetry, finished in Benjamin Moore Webster Green, follows the home’s angled walls in a subtle zig-zag that clearly defines areas for prep, cooking, clean-up, serving, seating, and pantry storage. Period-appropriate moldings, arched doors, walnut accents, and Brazilian teak floors honor the home’s character, while a starry New Ravenna marble backsplash, brass fixtures, and Art Deco pendants bring fresh personality to the space. Beyond the kitchen, a reimagined mudroom, carved from a former stairway, now links the kitchen, basement, and exterior, while a jewel-box powder room wrapped in bold flamingo wallpaper adds a playful finishing note to the home’s vibrant new heart.

A former stairway became a functional mudroom that seamlessly connects the kitchen, basement, and exterior at the driveway entry.

Historic Structure Honored
