Feinmann Wins National 2017 Chrysalis Award for Remodeling Excellence

Feinmann has won a National 2017 Chrysalis Award for Remodeling Excellence. The addition to a Newton split-level earned top honors in the entire nation in the Addition Over $250,000 category. There were 400 projects submitted for Chrysalis Awards in 15 categories. 80 remodeling companies from across the country were named winners. A panel of remodeling industry experts judged the project entries in a blind evaluation. Entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.

“Feinmann has won 10 Chrysalis Awards since 2002, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to professionalism and excellence,” said Ken Kanline, director of the awards program. The Chrysalis Awards, begun in 1994, recognizes the national remodeling industry’s best work in fifteen general categories of residential and commercial projects. The Chrysalis Awards are open to every professional remodeler an design professional in the United States.

“I am proud of the innovative design and craftsmanship illustrated in this project,” Feinmann founder and President, Peter Feinmann, said. “We appreciate that our team’s collaborative spirit, dedication and hard work have been recognized.”

Feinmann Wins Best of Boston HOME 2016 Award

2016 Best of Boston HOMEFeinmann received a 2016 Best of Boston HOME award for Design and Build, covering the suburbs West. The Best of Boston winners are featured in the 50th issue of Boston HOME. Congratulations to our staff and to all of the other Best of Boston 2016 winners: architects and designers, builders and craftspeople, shops and showrooms. “Peter Feinmann knows what to restore (that grand entryway and staircase, perhaps?) and what to vanquish, starting with that 1970s kitchen addition. His resulting renovations are bright and on-trend – glass-and-cherry cabinets, mirrored tile backsplashes, quartz countertops – all carefully considered for the needs of busy suburban families” writes Boston HOME.

Feinmann Wins 3 Gold 2012 CotY Awards

Feinmann Milton Gold CotY Award kitchenFeinmann proudly announces their recent win of three Gold Contractor of the Year Awards including a 2012 Gold CotY Award for Residential Kitchen Over $150,000. The Milton kitchen that won the prize was also featured in the recent Boston Globe Sunday Magazine Kitchens & Baths issue. A dark kitchen becomes a contemporary showstopper with abundant natural light and task lighting, plus sleek white high gloss lacquer and maple cabinetry. An adjacent eating area features a faceted ceiling with soaring angles and skylights.

Feinmann took home Gold for Residential Interior as well for a fabulous Beacon Hill condominium renovation. Innovative space planning gives this Boston home a modern urban revival. A new kitchen connects to the main living spaces and is the centerpiece of the home. The renovation included two bathrooms and the creation of a tatami room which serves multiple purposes as a guest room, meditation space and play area for the children.

Finally, Feinmann won Gold for Residential Exterior for an enclosed porch remodel in Belmont. Past clients sought to create an outdoor room with access to their hot tub and a place to gather with guests. The clients loved the results: a screened porch for relaxation and entertaining.

On Tammy – Ode to a Great Project Manager

Some of you have asked to see Tammy Russo’s winning submission to the 2011 Silver PRISM Award for Project Manager of the Year. Our clients say it best, so we’ve selected some of the highlights from their letters that were included in the winning submission:

‘ “What in the —- is a plinth?!?” we thought to ourselves as Tammy was explaining a way for improving the look of the interface between a while wall and baseboard molding and a protruding (“proud,” we were to learn) maple cabinet. This perfect suggestion is just one example of how Tammy was able to apply her extensive knowledge, gained over the course of countless projects and life experiences, to help us solve many a design or implementation dilemma. In each case, Tammy was ready with an answer that made sense and was in line with the look and feel we wanted to achieve.

All that said about her knowledge, skills and style, we’re convinced that the key factor in Tammy’s ability to deliver the positive experience we had is that she was able to keep in true harmony with our ongoing situation and feelings – listening – sensing – the wavelengths we were on.  One morning, around the time that the project was nearing completion, we were frantically preparing to entertain in support of our son’s imminent wedding, fretting over how we could put the best face on our almost-finished but still-in-disarray abode – when out of the blue a cleaning crew arrived, along with a breathtaking arrangement of unusual flowers and vegetation, and a selection of delectable desserts.  Almost instantly, we felt relaxed and ready.’

– S.K and A.N.

‘Beyond the scheduling and coordination of the project, Tammy took the time to get to know us, to field our seeming endless list of questions, and to provide us with the benefit of her years of experience when we were unclear of a direction to take.  We truly felt she was invested in the project, and wanted the best for us and for our home.  We, without question, would want Tammy to manage any future projects in our home.

On winning the award…

‘If there were an award for best project manager ever, you would deserve it. In the meantime, congratulations on the project manager of the year award. You are the best and it’s great to see this publicly acknowledged by the industry.’

– D. & M.
