Our Team

Peter Feinmann, CR – President

From the company’s beginnings in Peter’s home in 1987, Feinmann has grown into a multi-million dollar, award-winning firm, with a staff of 20+. A leader among a new generation of design and build professionals, Peter is a nationally recognized writer and sought-after speaker in the design/build industry. He is the recipient of numerous local and national awards, including the National Association of the Remodeling Industry’s (NARI) Contractor of the Year Award and Builders Association of Greater Boston’s Remodeling of the Year Award in 2008. Thoughtful management practices, honest communication, a team approach to every project and Peter’s emphasis on client satisfaction is why his company continues to be one of the most highly-regarded design/build firms in the industry today.

Barney Maier, R.A. – Senior Architect

Barney joined the Feinmann team in 2001 where his design expertise and insight has contributed to many award-winning renovations and residential additions.

“I enjoy tackling the big idea of each project,” Maier says. “I find it immensely satisfying to come up with solutions that are functional as well as beautiful.” Maier believes that every design strives to be an inspired but sensible conversation between architect, client, building, site and budget. Good design skillfully arrives at a creative balance between these influences.

Formerly a principal in his own architectural firm, Maier and Giannelli, Barney now relishes collaboration with carpenters and craftsmen in the field. “That partnership is integral to the creative process and to the success of each job,” he says. “There are no ‘Barney’ projects at Feinmann,” says Maier.

Barney earned a degree in Chinese Studies from Middlebury College and holds a Masters of Architecture from UCLA. He lives in Arlington where he has coached youth soccer, baseball and wrestling.

Tammy Russo – Senior Production Manager

Tammy has been with the firm since 1993, and has more than 20 years of experience in all facets of construction. Her unflappable attitude and ability to anticipate client’s needs embodies the company’s philosophy. As the main liaison between clients and carpenters, Tammy keeps subcontractors and crews calm while making clients feel well cared for. When she’s not nurturing others, Tammy cultivates her garden which boasts flowers as well as welded sculptures and other original works of art, including a cast-off toilet that Tammy reclaimed and turned into a planter.

Chris Tobin – Project Manager

Since joining the Feinmann team in January 2011, Chris has served as a project manager on several award-winning projects as well as developing new business. He has been in the building industry since 1987 after attending St. Michael’s and FSU as an economics major. Chris’ favorite part of his job is working one-on-one with clients “helping them make decisions.” He likes the professionalism, quality of work and dedication to craft that Feinmann brings to every job and reinforces that with his own set of skills and easy-going personality.

A native of Holliston, MA, when not working Chris is often with one of his four young adult children, skiing or horseback riding. On July Fourth he rides in the Lexington parade as Paul Revere with the Massachusetts National Lancers.

David Wittig – Production Manager

A member of the Feinmann team since May 2005, Dave has been an integral part of production development and project management. He has been in the industry since 1990 but grew up in the trades, accompanying his father on plumbing and pipe fitting jobs as soon as he was old enough to obtain a work permit.

Dave likes seeing the physical work take shape. “I’ve always been in the field on job sites determining the best way to get things done,” he says. Dave brings years of experience and a collaborative spirit with fellow workers and clients to his work at Feinmann. He shows determination to make progress at every task but with an eye towards flexibility. “There’s more than one way to do something.”

An avid outdoorsman, Dave likes to garden and spend time with his wife, daughter and two hounds when he’s not working for Feinmann.
